Marigold Arrowwood Tote

This tote was a really fun collaboration with Maureen Cracknell, one of our favorite designers for Art Gallery Fabrics with her signature floral style. She just released a collection called Marigold in time for this glorious spring-to-summer transition in Ohio, and are thrilled to make an Arrowwood Tote with it!

We decided to make one side as written in the pattern, but used our free tutorial with different Arrowwood pattern variations to insert a sawtooth star in the other side.
Personally, I just love how foam looks when quilted - the stitch lines show up and give it such wonderful texture.
The Arrowwood has six pockets - this time I reversed the interior and exterior pockets. I love how it's almost like a secret pocket and doesn't distract from that gorgeous floral.
Two more side pockets, two hanging pockets, and a key ring compete the inside. (Tip - if the hanging pockets are weighing down the top of your bag when it's set down, either stitch it down with a matching thread to your outside, or hand stitch a few whips in the corners to stabilize it a bit.)
We use the same hardware, webbing, and foam on our own bags that we carry in our Arrowwood notions kit.

We love this tote - if you haven't yet, check out the Library Tote versions Cait made on the Project Blog!
Happy sewing!
Rebecca
