Jolie - blue and gold baby version
A friend of mine asked me if I would make a baby quilt for her to gift to her sister-in-law. I very rarely take on commissions, but I had just released the Jolie quilt and baby quilts are by far my favorite to make! I'm so glad I took on this project, because this Jolie version might be my favorite yet!
The pattern includes five different sizing options, including this baby version!
I used Moda black chambray for the backing, misc Art Gallery Fabrics I had stashed in various blue and gold tones, and minky from JoAnn's I had. The simple straight line quilting looked great and the texture was fantastic with the thick minky and cotton batting. The entire quilt was so soft and had an excellent drape - this is definitely a combination I'll be repeating!
My daughter was a begrudging quilt model - she mostly just wanted to go play with her car. :) I couldn't keep her still for anything, but her tiny feet make me smile anyway.
I was a little sad to see it mailed off to it's new home, but a picture with a brand new baby snuggled in it was totally worth it.
