Buttercup Woodland Baby version

If you were to ask me my absolute favorite things to sew...it's baby quilts. Hands down. Practical baby quilts with dark backgrounds and cotton backs for grassy tummy time. Soft and light quilts with minky backs for couch cuddles. Colorful and bright quilts with eye catching personality. I love them all!

Cait has a friend who encouraged gender neutral, handmade gifts for their upcoming woodland-themed baby shower. She immediately came to me and said "We're going fabric shopping, I want to make a baby Buttercup!" So of course, we drop everything and head to our favorite modern fabrics store, Sew to Speak in Columbus.

We spent far too long ooo-ing and aaaah-ing over different color combinations and settled on these blues and yellows with a Moda chambray background in gray.

This is the uniform version of Buttercup - all the blocks match, unlike the scrappy version on the pattern cover. Whether you chose solids or prints, this version is a beautiful and cohesive look for those who don't want to make a scrappy quilt.

(We do our best to design all our patterns this way - multiple sizes and multiple variations so you can make the quilt YOU want!)

Cait quilted this one with a small stipple on a silver minky back and bound with the same yellow solid as the accent fabric - a gorgeous French General solid. It turned out so soft and cuddly and we're both thrilled to see it gifted it to it's new family.
