Buttercup in solids - the uniform version

This quit was aaaaaalllll Cait and her design genius. We were about halfway through our big goal for 2025 - recoloring all our patterns using solid fabrics - and Buttercup wasn't slated for several months. But...as we tend to do to each other...she shows up to work one day with this beautiful floral duvet cover from IKEA and a handful of color chips and we happily squirrelled off and had fabric ordered within the hour.

I love it when a creative spark just burns our day down!

We pulled all the colors from the backing - sometimes quilts are designed backwards and it's a really fun way to do it! Specific colors are listed at the end of the page.
This is the "uniform version" of the pattern - all the blocks match and are cut from yardage. Before now we had one other uniform version as a baby quilt. Buttercup also has a scrappy version you can make from a variety of cuts - we have several versions showcasing the scrappy design - black/yellow, Glamping, Feed Company, and a solid version.

Cait quilted this with a beautiful stencil from Hancy Creations and this time, I washed the quilt before photographing it and LOOK AT THAT CRINKLE! We wash all our quilts before any sort of trunk show, market display, or gifting. The shrinking and crinkle is an integral part of the process and it doesn't feel finished to us until then.

You can pry this quilt swirl trend from years ago from my old arthritic hands...I just love a swirl photo and I'm not stopping any time soon!

This quilt was a joy to make, start to finish. I'm betting Cait makes another one for her couch by the end of summer!

Happy sewing!

Rebecca and Cait
