Buttercup in Glamping fabrics

Let's talk about recovery projects. Those easy, feel good, fast projects that re-affirm that yes, you do in fact know what you're doing, and maybe you just made some poor choices with your fabric selections for the quilt you just finished and THAT'S why it was the most cantankerous thing you've ever sewn and not to mention you decided to throw in curves for the first time and...

Ahem. *smooths feathers back down*

Recovery projects. It's a thing. Sometimes you just need an easy sew that packs a lot of impact, and Buttercup was the perfect project for that. The blocks are beginner friendly and come together efficiently with strip piecing.

I used a jelly roll of Glamping by Riley Blake and gifted this to my mom - she has a real life teal VW camper! The background is Riley Blake confetti cottons in Cloud - a perfect warm white. This is my first time working with Confetti Cottons and I'm really liking it's lightness and relatively soft hand. The accent color is a remnant of Art Gallery Fabrics Pure Solids I had in my stash.

We quilted it together on our Bernina Q24 with a loopy hearts stencil and a white minky on the back.

My girls and I had a great time gifting this to my mom and taking a joy ride in her bus. :)
