Bloom Wild in Pink Solids
This is probably Cait and I's favorite quilt yet! Bloom Wild has been nearly a year in the making - and we re-learned a painful lesson in the process. But it's finally, FINALLY here to share with you all and we are so excited!
We sewed this one up with our favorite pinks and berries from Kona - all the colors are listed at the bottom of this post for reference.

This is the third quilt in the Wild series - sister quilts with Wild Soul and Grow Wild. All three together are a skill-building set of patterns that share a common construction motif and bold, scrappy design. Start with the beginner-friendly Wild Soul - work your way through the narrow strips of Grow Wild - and don't let the curves intimidate you out of Bloom Wild to finish the set!

Bloom Wild comes in five sizes - the throw size is pictured and makes a really balanced square quilt. Since the design uses only one block it's a breeze to chain piece and keep organized as you go.
Even as easy as it is to assemble, it didn't hurt to have the the herd of orange tabbies there to supervise. Ok lets be honest, they were just there to nap, really.

Cait long-armed this one with an edge-to-edge stencil from Hancy Creations, beautifully as usual. It's backed in plush Shannon Cuddle minky...we can't get enough of it! And finally, bound in the accent color - giving it a strong frame of color to contrast with the smooth expanse of white background.

Even the pup Iris managed to take part in this quilt - she's never far from a finished fluffy quilt.

Oh yes - that painful lesson? All whites are not created equal friends, and if you plan to hang all your quilts side by side, be dang sure you've grabbed the SAME white from the SAME manufacturer BEFORE you sew all the blocks together. Otherwise you'll be ripping blocks apart and resewing the quilt to avoid accidentally making the less-stark background look dingy and yellow.
Just...speaking from recent experience...but fear not! The creamy background didn't go to waste and we managed to make a bonus Bloom Wild! So we have a crisp shop sample for our shows and a lovely warm variation to use at home.

There are three more versions of this pattern coming to the Project Blog soon! Be sure to check back for a version made with all prints - this design handles patterns as beautifully as it showcases solid colors.
We hope you love this one as much as we do!
Happy sewing!
Rebecca and Cait
