Baby Calendula in Kona Solids - the beginner/uniform version

We had just enough leftover fabric from our scrappy Calendula to whip up this baby quilt featuring both the "uniform version" and the beginner modification that turns the plus blocks into a super simple beginner friendly block. It's great for featuring large scale fabrics or simply a balanced two-color quilt.

The entire top came together in an hour, cutting included. And at 41" x 41" it's a generous baby quilt!

This color combo has us thinking about summer days at the pool with our kiddos - not that far off for us as I'm typing this! Or maybe mama is just ready for a Caribbean vacation?

I mean...who isn't?

Cait quilted this using a new stencil from Hancy creations and backed it with a light gray minky. We love using baby quilts to try out new designs or ideas on the long arm! We aren't afraid of imperfect, and we don't get better without practice.

Anyway - if there's one pattern we'd make over and over again it's Calendula! With so many options and generous sizing, it's so easy to make a quilt for any season or occasion

Happy sewing!

Rebecca and Cait
