Bellflower Pouches

Bellflower Pouches

Bellflower Pouches....the ultimate boxy pouch pattern. We developed a set of nesting boxy pouches for our local craft fairs last year and they were so well loved we wrote up a pattern. When Cait took it home to test it...she went a little crazy...

...and showed back up to my house with ELEVEN boxy pouches made with tape and newsprint!! (I still have them...it was too hilarious to throw away!)

But best of all, she managed to make each set fat quarter friendly! Each set is made from a single fat quarter of outside fabric, a single fat quarter for the inside fabric, and 1-2 fat quarters for the binding. That math hurt our brains, but the enormous puzzle was so worth the result!

Each and every set has a place - let's look at how we like to use our Bellflowers!

Set 1: This set is the simplest with a single pouch, and it's also huge! Cait uses hers to store her daughter's ballet tights and leotard so it's a grab and go when it's time to get ready. Rebecca reaches for her for all day outings with the kids - it holds an impressive amount of snacks!

Set 2: This set has one large pouch and two matching small pouches meant to fit inside. Rebecca uses this set as her main toiletry pouch with small items tucked into the tiny pouches.

Set 3: This set is unique in it makes four pouches - and you can choose the sizes! The pattern includes Pouch A and Pouch B - both use the same size starting panel. The difference comes from which size you put the zipper on! The pattern guides you through making two of each, but makes it simple to adjust to your needs. We both enjoy this set for making gifts - Pouch A is great for pens, markers, crochet hooks, and other crafty tools!

Set 4: The final set was the original - and it also comes with options! This set is designed to nest if you want, and you can nest the little pouches inside either a long and skinny Pouch B or a shorter and taller Pouch A. Cait loves Pouch B for her sewing tools and office supplies while Rebecca reaches for this set to organize her office supplies. And snacks. Always the snacks when you have little kids!
We have found this pattern to be incredibly useful for us, personally, and we hope you find it just as great!
Happy sewing!
